ECU students partner with LCSPCA to make a difference for animals in need

The Lenoir County SPCA will host a community event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at 3200 U.S. 258 N. in Kinston.

Visitors can meet adoptable cats and dogs, learn about fostering and volunteering, and participate in activities focused on animal care and enrichment.

The event will feature information about dog enrichment, with slow feeders available to take home while supplies last. Participants also can learn how to make cat scratching posts from cardboard boxes and take part in games for shelter dogs.

A dog trainer from K9 Reflection Dog Training will be available to discuss training and offer dog care tips. Food from Peach House Restaurant and Sugar Hill Pizzeria also will be featured.

The event is part of a community service project by a team of East Carolina University students in a business leadership class. The assignment calls for students to partner with a local nonprofit to help their community.

For more information, email the shelter at SPCAlenoircounty@gmail.com.
