Jones County Public Schools mourns loss of one of their own, Carly Humphrey
JONES COUNTY, N.C. — Jones County Public Schools is mourning the loss of school social worker Carly Humphrey, who passed away following a battle with cancer.
The school district announced her passing in a heartfelt social media post, remembering Humphrey for her compassion, dedication and commitment to supporting students and families.
"As a school social worker, Carly was so much more than an employee. She was a compassionate heart, a listening ear, a source of strength, and a voice for students and families who needed someone in their corner," the district shared.
School officials said Humphrey made a lasting impact through her kindness and willingness to help others, particularly those facing difficult circumstances.
"Some of the greatest impacts we make in education cannot be measured by grades or test scores, but by the lives we touch, the hope we give, and the love we leave behind. Carly embodied that spirit of service," the district stated.
In its tribute, Jones County Public Schools expressed gratitude for Humphrey's contributions and the lasting legacy she leaves among students, families and colleagues.
"Once a part of our Jones County Public Schools family, always a part of our hearts," the district wrote.
School officials are asking the community to keep Humphrey's family, friends and the entire school community in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
