SBI: Suspect Dead, Two Deputies Wounded in Lenoir County Officer-Involved Shooting

(LENOIR COUNTY, N.C.) – The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is investigating today's shooting in Lenoir County at the request of Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers. This is being investigated as an officer-involved shooting because several law enforcement officers fired their weapons.
Two deputies were wounded by gunfire and are being treated at a local hospital. The suspect is deceased. The suspect's name will not be released until the appropriate family notification has been made. SBI agents and crime scene personnel are processing the scene and collecting evidence.
The law enforcement officers involved have been placed on administrative duty while the investigation is ongoing. Additional information may be released as it becomes available
