Billy Malcolm Paderick
Seven Springs – Billy Malcolm Paderick, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by the love of his family. Billy was born in Lenoir County on April 2, 1937, to the late Norwood Carroll “Bill” Paderick and Lottie Brown Smith.
Billy was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. He retired from Caswell Center in Kinston after 30 years of dedicated service, but retirement did not slow him down. He continued working in the remodeling business for himself, reflecting the strong work ethic that defined his life. Farming was in his blood, and time spent on the family farm remained especially important to him. Whether working with his hands or tending to the land, Billy found purpose and satisfaction in staying busy and doing what he loved. He will be remembered as a man who believed in hard work and took pride in a job well done.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Lillian Sutton Paderick; his sons, Billy Malcolm Paderick, Jr. and wife, Joyce, and Christopher Konrad Paderick and wife, Jimi; his grandchildren, Christopher Paul Deluise (Kali), Anne Marie Lambert, Billy Malcolm Paderick, III, Dustin Tyler Padrick, and Christopher Kevin Smith (Toni); and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jeffrey Paderick; and sisters, Faye Lanier, Grace Sutton (Jerry), Ann Henderson, and Alice Taylor (Mike).
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, with Rev. Chris Singleton officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home.
