NWS: The potential for significant accumulating snow expected

Winter Storm Watches remain in effect for all of eastern NC with the potential for significant accumulating snow.

• High Wind Watches have been expanded with very strong winds expected along the coast. This will likely lead to moderate to locally significant coastal flooding impacts both ocean- and soundside. Coastal Flood Watches were issued this afternoon.

• Storm and Gale Watches remain in effect for area waters, with very dangerous marine conditions expected.
