Two Lenoir County solid waste sites to close temporarily for improvements

Two Lenoir County solid waste convenience sites will temporarily close later this month for repaving and upgrades.

The Hugo Crossroads site at 2773 Grifton-Hugo Road will be closed Aug. 19–24 and is scheduled to reopen Sunday, Aug. 25. The Wallace Family Road site at 2272 Wallace Family Road will be closed Aug. 26–31 and is expected to reopen Monday, Sept. 1.

During the closures, residents can use other nearby convenience sites. A full list is available on the county’s website at lenoircountync.gov.

County officials said the improvements are intended to make the facilities safer and more efficient.
