Public Notice: Notice of offer to purchase property and opportunity for upset bids
TOWN OF LA GRANGE
NOTICE OF OFFER TO PURCHASE PROPERTY AND OPPORTUNITY FOR UPSET BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the Town of La Grange has received an offer to purchase the following property:
Property: Town-owned real property located at 313 S. Caswell Street, La Grange, NC, identified as Parcel #15109. The property is approximately 0.74 acres and is currently zoned R-18 Residential.
Offer: An offer of $10,000.00 has been received and accepted conditionally by the Town, subject to the upset-bid process under N.C. General Statute § 160A-269.
Upset Bids: Any person interested in purchasing the property may submit an upset bid within 10 calendar days after the date of this publication. The upset bid must raise the existing offer by not less than ten percent (10%) of the first $1,000 and five percent (5%) of the remainder of the offer amount, and must be accompanied by a 5% deposit of the proposed upset bid amount.
Deadline: The final date and time for submitting an upset bid is Monday, August 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

Town Hall Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Terms of Sale: The buyer must pay cash at closing and is responsible for all closing costs. The property will be sold “as is” without warranties of any kind.
If one or more qualifying upset bids are received, the Town will readvertise the highest such upset bid in the same manner, and the upset-bid period will recommence. This process will continue until no further qualifying upset bids are received. At that point, the Town Council may accept the highest bid and proceed with the sale.
Right to Reject: The Town Council reserves the right to reject any and all offers at any time prior to final approval.
