In a heartwarming Independence Day tradition, 24 individuals took the Oath of Allegiance and officially became United States citizens during a naturalization ceremony held at Harmony Hall in Kinston on July 4, 2025. Mayor Don D. Hardy was on hand to congratulate the new citizens, calling the moment a celebration of courage, commitment, and unity. “Your dreams strengthen the fabric of our city and our country,” Hardy said. The annual ceremony highlights Kinston’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion as part of its All-America City legacy.
