Arrest Made Following Shots Fired Call
On July 25, 2025, at approximately 3:35 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department's D-Squad and Detectives responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area of North Davis Street and East Lenoir Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located evidence consistent with a "shots fired call" in the intersection of Davis and Lenoir. Through investigative efforts, officers identified a suspect vehicle associated with the incident.
The vehicle was later located at a residence on the 900 block of College Street and was registered to 25-year-old Shamichael Wilson of Kinston. When officers attempted to make contact with Wilson, he fled on foot after grabbing at his waistband. Wilson ran to the rear of the residence before eventually exiting through the front door, where he was apprehended by officers without further incident.
Officers obtained and executed search warrants for both the residence and the suspect vehicle. The search resulted in the recovery of additional evidence related to the initial shots fired call.
As a result of the investigation, Shamichael Wilson was charged with the following :
-Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits
-Going Armed to the Terror of the People
-Felony Carrying a Concealed Gun (CCG)
-Resisting a Public Officer
