Obituary: David Randall Huggins
David Randall Huggins, 76, of Kinston, NC entered into eternity on June 6, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC. Randall was born in Lenoir County to David Leroy Huggins and Phoebe Gates Huggins. He was a Construction Superintendent with Duke Energy. Randall served his church for over 28 years in many capacities including as a former member of the Pastor’s Council. His life was centered around family.
It didn’t matter if we were cooking a steak on the grill, celebrating holidays, or vacationing at the beach. Left to cherish Randall's memory is: His wife of 27 years, Linda Collie Huggins; sons, David Randall "Randy" Huggins (Christy), James Christopher "Chris" Smith (Krissie), and Matthew Ryan Smith (Tracy); grandchildren, Brennan Huggins, Ava Huggins, Addison Ferebee, Cydney Smith, Jack Smith, Leah Gurganus, and Olivia Smith. Randall was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Huggins, Thomas Huggins, and William "Bill" Huggins; sisters, Peggy Huggins Tripp, Hazel Huggins Phillips, Rachel Huggins Poindexter, Ella Huggins Hoffman, Elizabeth "Lib" Huggins Harrison, and Barbara "Faye" Huggins.
A funeral service will be held at Tanglewood Church, 2102 Rouse Road, Kinston NC, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow. A graveside service will take place at Westview Cemetery, Hillcrest Road, Kinston, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Pastors Tommy Tripp, Allen Stocks, and Timothy Lanier.
