Son arrested for shooting father in foot
A son was arrested early Monday morning by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly shot his father in the foot.
Curtis Ray Thompson Jr., 24, of Lenoir County was arrested without incident this morning and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury. The older Thompson was still in the hospital when this release was produced.
The incident occurred at 2114 Tara Drive in Lenoir County. Following an investigation by LCSO detectives, the son became the key suspect in the crime.
The younger Thompson was transported to the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office, where he received a $12,500 secured bond.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
