Lenoir Community College Dedicates Radiography Lab in Honor of Caswell Center Foundation

Lenoir Community College held a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, April 29, to celebrate the naming of its Radiography Lab in honor of the Caswell Center Foundation, recognizing the Foundation’s generous support of healthcare education.

A recent gift from the Caswell Center Foundation to the LCC Foundation will fund scholarships for students pursuing careers in healthcare, a gesture that President Dr. Rusty Hunt called “life-changing.”

“We are thrilled today to name our Radiography Lab after the Caswell Center Foundation,” said Dr. Hunt. “This gift will support our students for years to come, and there’s no better partnership than one that strengthens both education and community healthcare.”

Danny Rice, outgoing chair of the Caswell Center Foundation, spoke on behalf of the board. “LCC is very close to our heart,” he said. “We believe in the passion of LCC, and we are proud to support students who will become the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

Dr. Alexis Welch, Dean of Health Sciences and Nursing, emphasized the impact of the partnership. “It’s all about preparing our students for the workforce,” she said. “In addition to this scholarship support, Caswell Center also serves as a vital clinical site that helps shape our students into compassionate, skilled healthcare workers.”

The Caswell Center and LCC share a long history of collaboration, and the dedication marks a new chapter in their shared mission to improve lives in eastern North Carolina.
