Salary: $38,000 - $45,000 Annually
Skilled Maintenance Technician
The Skilled Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance of facilities to avoid possible failure and malfunctions. This individual will report to the Director of Facility Operations in the servicing, repairing, and basic day-to-day needs of the Facilities Maintenance Department.
Qualifications
ยท High school diploma
ยท Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades
ยท Licensed (electrical and plumbing) tradesman preferred
ยท Ability to use common hand tools
ยท Experience in performing routine maintenance
ยท Strong organizational and follow up skills
ยท Detail oriented
ยท Team player with great interpersonal skills
ยท Ability to maintain focus while working individually
ยท Strong time management skills
ยท Possess normal care and awareness required to prevent injuries
ยท Must have or be able to obtain a valid NC driver's license
Working Conditions
ยท Must be able to work inside or outside facilities with exposure to heat and cold on a daily basis
ยท Moderate physical activity requiring long periods of standing, walking, and periodic lifting of 50 pounds or more
ยท Must be able to ascend and descend ladders up to 25 feet high to carry out inspections and repair work
ยท Must be able to crawl and work in confined spaces to repair equipment and fixtures
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The duties of the Skilled Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to:
ยท Perform minor and/or major repair of buildings and selected equipment (excluding HVAC)
ยท Perform preventive maintenance procedures on buildings on a scheduled and/or work order basis
ยท Assist with the renovation/remodeling of buildings
ยท Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required or needed
ยท Move furniture and equipment
ยท Repair doors, door locks, closures, and windows
ยท Minor roofing repairs
ยท Operate a forklift
ยท Perform preventative maintenance on LCC vehicles (oil, water, other fluids, tire pressure, etc.)
ยท Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work site
ยท Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
