Kinston man arrested for failing to report new address
A registered sex offender who failed to let officials know he had changed addresses was arrested Wednesday by the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) unit.
The LCSO’s General Investigation Division started an investigation on Sherrod Hines, 48, of Kinston. Hines had allegedly failed to notify the LCSO of his change of address.
The DCSO arrested Hines Wednesday and was then turned over to the LCSO’s SCARR unit; they transported him to the Lenoir County Jail, where he was charged with a felony count of failure to report a new address. He received a $35,000 secured bond.
