Lenoir Community College Receives State Auditor’s Award of Excellence

Lenoir Community College proudly announces that it has been selected as a recipient of the State Auditor’s Award of Excellence, a prestigious statewide honor recognizing exemplary financial reporting and accountability. LCC is one of only a select group of institutions, including universities, community colleges, and state agencies, to earn this distinction for outstanding financial audit performance.

The Award of Excellence, established by the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor, honors entities that go above and beyond in preparing accurate and transparent financial statements and completing federal compliance audits without significant audit findings, adjustments, delays, or instances of noncompliance.

“As our team conducts audits, there are some entities that go above and beyond in preparing their financial statements. These entities deserve recognition, and I’m proud to honor them with this Award of Excellence,” said State Auditor Dave Boliek. “High-quality audits contribute greatly to the overall financial health of our state and help our economy and the many businesses that work with the government.”

This achievement reflects the outstanding work of LCC’s Business Office team, under the leadership of JD Gibbs, Dean of Financial Services, and Debbie White, Controller. “This achievement is a testament to the team’s professionalism, accuracy, and commitment to financial integrity,” said Deborah Sutton, Senior Vice President of Administrative Services and Chief Operating Officer. “We congratulate JD, Debbie, and the entire Business Office staff for this well-deserved honor.”
