Lenoir County Farmer's Market update for April 13, 2024

The Lenoir County Farmer’s Market is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm.

HAPPY SPRING!

This week, we welcome a new vendor, Dennis Hise, of Plant Perfect. He will have lots of different types of pepper plants plus other plants: habanero plants, chili plants, cayenne blend plants, jupiter plants, watermelon plants, sunflower plants, tomato plants seeds, and a variety of hot pepper plants. Stop by to say hello to Dennis and plant your garden with already started plants. In addition to Dennis and his plants, there will be farm fresh eggs, crafts and home decor, delicious, bright red strawberries, absolutely fabulous asparagus, along with squash, onions, pickling cucumbers, green bell peppers.

Please mark your calendars for the first of the monthly events we have planned for the market. Each month we will celebrate an item that is in season during that month. This promises to be great fun for all. This month we will feature the beautiful, juicy, and red strawberry. Check out the flyer below, get out your recipe book, and enter one of your favorites in our very first-ever tasting contest. This is NOT limited to strawberry shortcake. Text 252-560-1617 for details.

For this special day, there will be several food trucks on hand so that you can stay for lunch or for a special treat.

This beautiful dessert comes from our neighbor, TUNDRATOWN. Tundratown will bring their ice cream trailer to the market on the 20th to serve this strawberry dessert and other tempting ice cream treats. How could you resist their beautiful take on strawberry shortcake, using local strawberries from our vendor, TC Smith Produce?

It won't be hard to find a lunch item that will suit every palate on this menu from our new food truck vendor, Litt's Kitchen. She plans to be with us each Saturday throughout the summer.

Most vendors accept EBT CARDS.
