Freedom Classic Series: A weekend of baseball and patriotism

We are excited to announce our upcoming 14th Annual Freedom Classic baseball series between the Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy that will be held on February 23rd-25th, 2024 (Friday-Sunday). The series will take place at historic Grainger Stadium in Kinston. 

This series is a non-profit event coordinated by Kinston-Lenoir County Parks & Recreation and a committee of volunteers and staff. 

Some exciting highlights of the weekend will include the following:

  • Military Flyovers before each game (conducted by F15E Strike Eagles from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and the Bandit Flight Team). 

  • Military Appreciation and Pre-Game ceremonies held 20 minutes will be held 20 minutes before each game. 

  • Military displays set up by local veterans’ groups will be set up throughout the stadium.

  • Flag Display held on the field before each game (sponsored by WoodmenLife Insurance).

*Please note that pre-game events may be subject to change.

Gametimes

  • Game 1 - 6:00pm on Friday, February 23

  • Game 2 - 2:00pm on Saturday, February 24

  • Game 3 - 12:30pm on Sunday, February 25

FREE: ACTIVE MILITARY

$5.00: STUDENTS, RETIRED MILITARY, MILITARY DEPENDANTS, VETERANS, and SENIORS (60 & over)

$7.00: ADULTS (18 & up) General Admission

$20.00: TOURNAMENT PASS (Per Person, includes all three games)  

FREE: CHILDREN 3 & UNDER

**LIMITED BOX SEATS AVAILABLE ($125 per box, seats 9. Must be reserved in advance) **
