Greene County Economic Development and LCC to host Career Fair

Greene County Economic Development and LCC to host Career Fair

Snow Hill - On September 13, 2023, The NC Global TansPark Economic Development Region will host its Second Annual Greene County Job Fair. The event will be held at the Greene County Wellness Center in Snow Hill.

Dawn Kantz, Associate Dean of AAMC and Workforce Development at Lenoir Community College,  shared “Last year, Trey Cash from Greene County Economic Development reached out to me about helping him start a job fair in Greene County. I had been organizing the job fair in Lenoir County at LCC for the last several years so agreed to help Greene County start up theirs. “

Working together they combined their contact lists and came up with 60 different employers to invite to participate. 30 of those employers attended and participated in the fair. There were about 100 jobseekers who visited our employers' tables and we know of at least one person who was offered a job that day!

Kanz went on to share that “Even though it was the first year, we felt the event was a success and hope to have even more employers this year.” Last year the fair featured businesses from manufacturing, public safety, grocery stores, insurance,  K-12 and higher education, state and local government departments, banking,  and restaurants.

While the career fair is right around the corner they are still actively looking for employers to participate this year. They have also changed the time of the fair so students from Greene Central and the Early College who might be interested in searching for jobs could also attend.

Lenoir Community College is helping to present this event. If you would like more information or your business or industry would like to sponsor or be represented at the fair contact Dawn Kantz at LCC via email dkkantz79@lenoircc.edu by September 1.
