Special Entry Salary: $46,455 - $64,038
Primary Purpose of Position:
To provide direct client care in all clinical settings, home visiting and all health care activities related to the prevention and control of communicable disease and tuberculosis; to provide direct preventive health care to clients in clinic and community; to direct staff in Communicable Disease outbreak control; and to serve as a member of the EPI team in addressing community wide Communicable Disease needs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures of TB/CD and Lenoir County Health Department. Ability to make good judgement and notify supervisor. Ability to work/deal effectively with patients, staff and other health professionals. Ability to remain calm and function efficiently in emergency and stressful situations.
Minimum Training:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of Public Health nursing experience; or a Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and two years of professional nursing experience; or graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience including two years of Public Health nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation:
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina by the N.C. Board of Nursing and Valid N.C. driver’s license.
