Obituary: Gail Wells

Gail Wells, 72, was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday, June 16, 2022 peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

Gail was born December 13, 1949 in Kinston. She graduated from Wheat Swamp High School then pursued a Cosmetology degree which she worked several years. Gail married the love of her life Ronnie Wells and after the birth of their daughter she began working with Ronnie side by side on the farm which she took a lot of pride in.

Just recently they had celebrated an anniversary. Gail was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston which she loved attending. Gail had many hobbies like cooking, gardening, fishing, sewing, dancing, shopping, bible study but most of all spending time with her grandchildren at the beach, “Friday nights” baseball games and dance recitals.

She is survived by her husband and best friend, Ronnie Wells; daughter, Monica W. Stephens and beloved son-in-law, Chris Stephens. Grandchildren, Ronald “Hunter” Stephens and wife, Ashley Jones Stephens and Hannaley Gail Stephens all of Kinston, who were all very special to their “Nannie”. Special niece, Brandy Quinn Bryant and husband Tony and Michelle Quinn. Sister-in-law, Minnie P. Wells and nephew, Tony Ginn of Florida and Taylor Wells and family of Florida.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Charles Russell and sister, Kaye Russell.

A private memorial service was held graveside Friday, June 17, 2022 officiated by Pastor Chris Truett of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. Garner Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
