Xi Beta Upsilon makes donations to Kinston nonprofits

Press release from Xi Beta Upsilon:

Xi Beta Upsilon is one of the two Kinston chapters of Beta Sigma Phi. In 2021-2022, XBU made donations to Dementia Alliance, Homeless Shelter, Hope Restorations, and Department of Social Services — all in Kinston. On the national level, XBU donated to disaster relief, Burn Center, and the military.
We toured Savannah, Ga., in October, and checked out “Trash to Treasures” in Jacksonville, NC, in April. Sandra Braxton, Shelby Smith, Jessica Shimer, and Sandra Thompson progressed to Torchbearer, our sorority’s highest degree. After dinner at Spice Bouquet in February, Sandra Thompson was crowned Valentine Queen. At the Founders Day banquet in April, Donna Grady won Program of the Year and was named Woman of the Year. And finally, we celebrated our chapter’s 46th birthday this year. The other XBU members are Debbie Smith, Cindy Mills, Nan Dale, Jan Fly, Lois Charlton, and Diane Bowen.
