International flight makes emergency landing at GTP this afternoon

After experiencing some mechanical issues, an international flight (a chartered plane) landed at the Global TransPark in Kinston this afternoon. The flight originated in Antigua and was bound for New York. The flight landed safely at the GTP; there were no injuries on the flight. It will also be taking back off soon.

Responding to the incident were Lenoir County Emergency Services officials, the Kinston Fire Department and the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office.

There will be no further statement from officials on this incident until later today.
