South Lenoir student accepted into Governor's School

South Lenoir High School Junior, Sydney McLawhorn has been accepted into Governor’s School West. She will focus on mathematics at Winston- Salem State University. 

South Lenoir High School shared the news through their Facebook page, saying; “Congratulations to SLHS Junior, Sydney McLawhorn, on her acceptance to Governor’s School!! The Governor’s School of North Carolina is the oldest statewide summer residential program for gifted and talented high school students in the nation. The program, which is open to rising seniors only, is located on two college campuses. Sydney will be attending Governor’s School West in the area of Mathematics at Winston-Salem State University this summer. Congratulations! We are so proud of you!”
