Kinston Toastmasters reaches 70 years of shaping lives

A virtual celebration will be held to mark the club’s anniversary on Tuesday, September 7, 2021

Kinston Toastmasters, will mark its Platinum anniversary on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. In honor of the occasion, a virtual celebration will be held via Zoom. Members of the public are invited to learn more about Toastmasters and attend the event by registering through our website https://962.toastmastersclubs.org.  Since 1951, the club has been dedicated to helping people become better speakers and leaders.

Kinston Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear of public speaking and sharpen presentation skills,” says Robyn Jones, Vice President Public Relations“.  Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one’s confidence, build critical thinking skills and become an effective listener,” says Jones.

Some of the club’s notable members include former Kinston Free Press editor, Jake Strother and former Kinston mayor Johnnie Mosley.

Chartered in 1951, Toastmasters club 962 is located in District 117. The club normally meets each first and third Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Lenoir Community College, 231 Hwy 58S, Kinston, NC.  During the pandemic we are meeting via Zoom.  For more information about the club, please visit https://962.toastmastersclubs.org.
