Kinston Police: 3 day operation results in citations, arrests

Over the past few weeks the Kinston Police Department has noticed an increase in violent  crime occurring in the city. As a direct response to the uptick, the Kinston Police Department  has placed more officers on the street with a primary focus on violent and repeat offenders.  This effort combined with a data driven approach has resulted in the following arrest.  

On September 22nd, 2021, members of the Kinston Police Department conducted a traffic stop  near the 1400 block of N. Independence St. Kinston, N.C. During that time, officers arrested  Hiyante Miller, 29, of Kinston for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession  with Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana. Miller was placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center  and given No Bond.

Also on September 22nd, 2021, members of the Kinston Police Department observed Drejon  Hall, 21, of Kinston N.C. walking near the 900 block of E. Highland Ave. Kinston, N.C. Officers  spoke with Hall and during the course of the investigation he was found to be in possession of a  firearm. Hall was arrested and placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under No Bond for  Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.  


On September 23rd, 2021, members of the Kinston Police Department were patrolling the  Mitchell Wooten Housing Community. During that time, the officers made contact with  Rahkiya Davis, 30 of Rocky Mount. During the course of the investigation Davis was found to be  in possession of 25 MDMA Pills. She was arrested and placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a  $15,000 bond.

During the course of the 3-Day Crime Suppression Operation officers conducted 71 Traffic Stops  resulting in 75 Citations/Warning Tickets for various criminal violations and infractions. Officers  also served 24 warrants, made 5 additional arrests, and seized 3 firearms.
