Dixon Foods Group is coming to an end

Dixon Foods Group will transition their current restaurants to new owners after the announcement that Dixon Foods has come to an end.

“At the end of September, the Dixon Foods season will come to an end and a new journey will begin,” said Wade Dixon. “The Dixon family has been honored to be part of the Eastern North Carolina community for more than 50 years and to have had the opportunity to serve you all through two generations of local McDonald’s owners.”

Dixon foods started in 1970 with one restaurant in Goldsboro, and now has 28 restaurants across Eastern North Carolina.

“We are excited for the next step in our journey, but also for the next steps in the journeys of the 5 new McDonald’s operators who will immerse themselves in the Eastern NC community and continue to make a positive impact under the Golden Arches,” said Dixon.

Dixon Foods Group (DFG) was started more than 45 years ago by Jerry Wade Dixon.

“I have enjoyed working for the Dixon’s and with you all,” said Candace Windham, Marketing Manager for Dixon Foods Group. “It has been a blessing to work for a company that understands the importance of giving back to its community.”

Local area locations owned by Dixon Foods Group include 1033 Kingold Blvd in Snow Hill, 4194 W. Vernon Ave. in Kinston, 110 W. Vernon Ave. in Kinston, and 612 E. New Bern Road in Kinston.

“It has been a pleasure working with you and within your communities,” said Windham. “I do hope that your future owners will take part as much as they can.”
