Reminder of scam alert from Sheriff Ronnie Ingram

Reminder of scam alert from Sheriff Ronnie Ingram

We have already received numerous calls today about a person identifying themselves as someone with the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office that is a fraudulent scam. The person is trying to convince you that you failed to appear for jury duty and wants you to pay a bond or fine over the phone. The Sheriff's Office will never call you and ask you to pay us money over the phone for bonds or fines.

THE LENOIR COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, nor any other GOVERNEMENT AGENCY will call you to get you to pay something with a pre-paid visa card, or anything else like that. They don't know your name social security number, date of birth or any other information until you tell them. Do not play along. Just hang up.
