Jones County teacher nominated for Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction

Mr. Willie Blango, Masonry Teacher at Jones Senior High School, was nominated by Thomas Taylor as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction. This is in recognition of his impact as an educator, leader and role model.

Here is what Thomas wrote:

"Mr. Blango is the best teacher I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and knows each of us by name. If anyone is going through something in their life, he's there to help them the whole way through it. In one of his classes that I was in, no one scored below an 85% on the final exam."
