Kinston native lands major distribution contract with MNRK Nashville

Kinston native Marcus Pitt landed a major distribution contract with MNRK Nashville on November 5, 2021. Pitt serves as co-CEO of Independent label Synergy Media and Entertainment Group. Faith-based artists Imani Joi and Demarcus Kelly’s future releases are included in the distribution contract.

“We're so excited to be a part of the amazing family that is MNRK Nashville,” said Pitt. “We hope to add to the transcendent legacy that they have already established.”

Marcus Pitt was born and raised in Kinston, NC to parents Moses and Estella Pitt. From an early age, Pitt realized his passion for music. He began his career as a music educator teaching private lessons. With the Lenoir County Public Schools, he taught Chorus, Band, and General Music at Rochelle Middle School from 2017 until 2019.

“As an indie label, we want to provide every tool necessary for our artists to succeed. Having a partnership with MNRK gives us the machinery we need to be successful.”

During his time at Rochelle, he started his own independent label "Synergy Media & Entertainment". Pitt taught during the day and made music at night until he could realize his dream of being a full-time music producer and business owner. Synergy Media & Entertainment Group was formed in 2015 through the much-expressed desires and needs of fellow musicians, artists, and organizations.

“Demarcus and Imani's new singles are a bright beginning to the future joint success that we will share, and we have so much more in store to share soon!”

Kelly released his debut album entitled Demarcus Kelly Presents: The Sound which debuted at #12 on iTunes Christian charts. In 2018, Joi was the first female artist signed with Synergy Media Entertainment.

Pitt currently resides in Greenville, NC with his wife Diondria Pitt and children; Bryson, Makenzie, Rylee, and London. Pitt owns and operates his company with his childhood best friend Nicholas Cole.
