Synergy Home Care marks first anniversary in Kinston
Synergy Home Care has reached a milestone in Kinston, celebrating its first anniversary of serving residents across eastern North Carolina with in-home care and community support.
The agency, which opened in September 2024, provides services that help clients remain safe and independent in their own homes. Based in Kinston, Synergy’s reach extends into New Bern, Greenville, Greene County, Jones County and Duplin County.
Owner and director of business development Claire Sugg said the company’s mission goes beyond in-home support. The goal, she explained, is to serve as a trusted resource for families as they face the often overwhelming challenges of arranging care.
“It can be overwhelming when a hospitalization or life event creates the need for care,” Sugg said. “Even if we’re not the right fit, we want to be a resource for families and help them navigate their options.”
Services range from long-term in-home support for aging adults to short-term recovery care after a surgery, procedure or accident. Synergy also offers postnatal care for new parents returning home from the hospital.
“Sometimes it’s just about those first two weeks when you really need an extra set of hands,” Sugg said. “Something as simple as doing laundry or helping with meals can make a big difference.”
Sugg emphasized that the agency is committed to keeping people at home whenever possible, whether that means assisting with daily living needs, helping after a hip replacement or supporting veterans and their families.
Financial concerns are often one of the first questions families raise. While much of the industry is private pay, Sugg noted that other options are available and Synergy helps families navigate them.
“We do accept long-term care insurance and we are credentialed with the VA, so we can help people utilize those benefits,” she said. “It’s not always clear to families that those resources are out there, but we work with them to make sure they are getting the support they’re entitled to.”
Synergy Home Care operates as part of a national franchise, giving the local office access to a broader network of expertise and training. That support, Sugg said, strengthens their ability to serve as a reliable partner for clients and caregivers.
“Our goal is to help keep people independent and happy at home,” she said. “We want families to know that they don’t have to go through this process alone.”
