LCSO investigates shooting on Fred Everett Road

SHOOTING INCIDENT IN LENOIR COUNTY, ONE VICTIM SHOT
PUBLIC ASKED TO HELP

The Lenoir County Sheriffs Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Monday night at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Fred Everett Road in Kinston.

The Investigations and Patrol Divisions conducted the crime scene investigation and interviews of witnesses. North Lenoir Fire and Rescue assisted by providing equipment and lighting to aid in the crime scene search.

One victim was shot during the incident. The extent of the injuries at this time are not known. The victim was transported by Lenoir County EMS from the scene. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.

Sheriff Ronnie Ingram states, “We do not believe there is any public threat. Witnesses have told us the suspect(s) fled in a vehicle from the scene after the shooting.”

In regards to this investigation, we would ask the residents in this immediate area that may have camera footage of Fred Everett Road or the surrounding area to notify the Sheriff’s Office to aid in the identification of any suspect vehicles. It is believed that the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle traveling towards Alton Phillips Road on Fred Everett Road from Hwy 258.
