Jones County Regional Water System Pressure Advisory

Jones County Regional Water System Pressure Advisory

According to Jones County: Unfortunately, contractors have damaged another water main at the same intersection of Claude Banks Rd. & Oak Grove Rd. again this morning. Please see the official statement below.

The water consumers of Jones County Regional Water System, located at or near the intersection of Claude Banks Rd & Oak Grove Rd. will be experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system effective 8-10-2020, due to water main damage by contractors. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

Therefore, the Division of Environmental Health ADVISES that when water is restored consumers BOIL ALL WATER used for human consumption (including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice and washing hands) or use bottled water.

Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

This office is strongly urging the water consumers to conserve water whenever possible.

This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued.

PLEASE NOTE:
Only the water customers who reside within the pictured area below are affected by this advisory!

This advisory issued on 8-10-2020 by:

Mike Houston, UMC
