Lenoir Community College recently was awarded a $10,000 grant through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to support LCC and the Greene County Family Literacy Program for the 2020-2021 school year. The amount of the grant is the maximum allocation for the category.

LCC has maintained a rich and valuable partnership with Greene County Schools and the Greene County Pre-K Center since 1993. This family literacy program supports students in multiple program areas, including English Language Acquisition (ESL) and High School Equivalency (GED). The program is specifically designed to support parents who have young children that attend the Greene County Pre-K program in the hope that improving the education and academic skills of parents will also improve the literacy of their children.
