Reece Gardner: Why did China develop the 'Wuhan Virus'?

One more question about the Wuhan Virus:  What was China's purpose for its development in the first place? If the purpose was to wage warfare on the rest of the world, which seems to be the case, then it's the equivalent of China sending its aircraft over our country and reigning bombs down on us indiscriminately. We tolerate that at our own peril.

But two people can look at the same situation and draw different conclusions. For example, a man sees a sign in front of a house: "Talking Dog for Sale."  He rings the bell, and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. He goes into the backyard and sees a huge dog just sitting there. "You talk?" he asks. "Yep," the dog replies. "So, then, let me hear you."  The dog looks up and begins to speak: "I discovered this gift at a young age and I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping."

The man listened intently as the dog continued, "For eight years I was one of their most valuable spies, but the jetting around began to tire me, and I wanted to settle down, so I signed up to do some undercover security work at the airport, mostly wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I discovered some incredible things there, and was awarded a  bunch of medals."  The man is amazed, and he goes back into the house and asks the owner how much he wants for the dog. The owner says, "10." The guy says, "This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you willing to sell him so cheap?" The owner replies, "Because he's such a liar. He didn't do any of that stuff!"

Sometimes it is indeed hard to see the forest for the trees. Another example:  A customs officer at the Mexican border noticed a man coming across one day on a bicycle with two small sacks tied to the handlebars. He naturally got suspicious and asked the man to open the sacks, but when he did he found nothing but sand. This went on every day for the next month. Each day he'd stop the bicycle and open the sacks, but he would always find only sand.

A few years later he happened to run into the biker in a restaurant in Tijuana. After some small talk he said, "Come on. I know you were smuggling something all that time. I won't tell. I'm just curious. What was it?"  The man replied, "Bicycles."

So, in closing, maybe while we are concentrating on getting this coronavirus under control and, thank God, we are going to be successful in this effort, we should also be concentrating on taking whatever steps are necessary to see to it that those who would spread such destruction around the world won't be able to do so again.

Have a wondrous day!
