The following restaurant inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:

Inspection date: 1/8/20

Observations:

Employee bathroom was out of paper towels;

Container of flour is not labeled;

No test strips available for sanitizer;

Several surfaces in kitchen have a greasy residue;

Floor in walk-in needs additional cleaning;

Small holes in wall near flat-top;

Observations:

Employees could not describe employee health policy;

No hand towels or approved hand-drying devices available at hand-sinks at beginning of inspection;

Few potentially hazardous foods on make line temped above 41F; lettuce in walk-in temped above 41F; all potentially hazardous foods in cold holding shall be 41F or below;

Frozen chili and peas thawing in prep sink is not an approved thawing method;

Boxes of food stored on the floor of walk-in freezer;

Wiping cloth stored in blue bucket beside hand-sink was in sanitizer that was too weak;

Several surfaces and edges of equipment in kitchen need additional cleaning;

Stall in women's restroom did not have toilet paper;

Dumpster for cardboard is beginning to rust and has small holes in the bottom; 

Numerous boxes on ground near dumpster area;

Floors and walls need additional cleaning;

Observations:

Box of raw bacon was stored above box of cooked barbecue;

Buckets of sanitizer briefly placed on counter while employee was cleaning/sanitizing counter; keep buckets of sanitzier below counters when food is out;

A few wet wiping cloths left around kitchen; when not in use store in proper strength sanitizer;

Inside of walk-in freezer has ice buildup beneath back shelf;

Thermometer read 28F in ice water; shall be calibrated to read 32F;
