A Queen Street Christmas 2020 on YouTube

"A Queen Street Christmas" has been a favorite event for many in Lenoir County and the surrounding area for 18 years. To prevent the loss of another event this season, members of Queen Street United Methodist Church worked tirelessly to create a virtual event to share for the Christmas season.

While the experience of this presentation in person cannot be replaced, it is their hope that this concert will bring joy to the hearts of those who "attend".

Twenty three singers from as far as 200 miles away collaborated to create the virtual choir. A well-spaced orchestra met together to record their accompaniment, and all was merged to create the final product. As an advantage to this arrangement, several were able to submit multiple parts into the mix. One performer even participated in two chorus sections and the orchestra!

Forty camera feeds and nearly 100 audio tracks were combined to create "A Queen Street Christmas 2020." Included are yearly favorites from the choir such as "The First Nowell" and "Joy to the World". Featured soloists include Laura Beth Mewborn on "O Holy Night," William Hardy on "O Come, All Ye Faithful," and Tammy Dawson on "Silent Night." The orchestra chimes in with several familiar pieces, and the dramatic reading of the Nativity by Dennis Levin completes the story. Bringing back a favorite from years ago, Jacob Mewborn gives you an up close and personal view of his organ performance of "Go, Tell It on the Mountain."
