Reece Gardner: The Election is Over. Or is it?

Reece Gardner: The Election is Over. Or is it?

First of all, a salute to our veterans on this Veterans Day. Thank you for your service!

Well, the Election is over. Or is it? In the presidential race we witnessed one candidate on the campaign trail holding several rallies each day in various parts of the country and attracting thousands of obviously adoring fans at every one of those events, as well as being able to point to significant achievements in his first term as President, keeping our country safe and avoiding military conflict, and always PUTTING AMERICA FIRST. His opponent, on the other hand, stayed in his basement for most of the campaign, emerging only briefly to answer largely edited questions.

And yet, on Election Day, this opponent received a majority of the votes. We watched while some states, citing the need to avoid contact with others because of COVID 19, sent out write-in ballots to every registered voter in their states, even to thousands who were still on the voting rolls even after they had moved or passed away. Every legal vote should be counted but that, according to many investigative agencies, just did not occur in this election.

We must stop this from ever happening again. One observer probably had it right when he said, as millions of ballots were being sent out without regard to authenticity, "The fix is in." If we deny ourselves the right to free and fair elections, we will be headed in the direction of many third-world countries whose people are governed by a handful of despots who govern by force without regard to the will of the people.

Let's keep our country free, a government "Of the people, By the people, and For the people." We still live in the greatest country on the face of the earth, a nation of heroes, such as: Law enforcement people who step forward and risk their lives for our safety; Parents who sacrifice so much for their children; Ministers who constantly reach out to the most needy among them; Friends who stand by friends when the going gets tough; Caregivers who are quick to give loving assurance to those who are grieving; Children who provide care and comfort to elderly parents; Spouses who truly love and appreciate each other, and show it;

People in authority who lead first with their hearts; Our Military, God bless them; And then there is The Salvation Army, Homeless Shelters, Hospitals with loving and caring doctors and nurses, Schools, and the many millions of people who routinely give of their time, money, and expertise in service to others. Let's keep all these good things going by remaining free.

Now to close with a little humor: A man faced a violation for adding horse meat to the chicken stew in his restaurant. At his court appearance he is asked why he did it, and how much horse meat was in the stew. He solemnly declared that he did it for the money and he always kept the ratio 50:50. Upon seeing the man's honesty, the judge decides not to revoke his license. However he in turn must always advertise that horse meat is indeed a part of the ingredients.

With a sigh of relief, he pays the fine and walks out of the courthouse with his friend, who asks him, "Do you really put only horse meat in the stew, or do you add anything else with the chicken?" "Nope, only horse meat and chicken." "Now tell me the truth," his friend said, "it was mostly horse meat, wasn't it?" "Nope. it was always 50:50. One horse per one chicken!"

Have a great day!
