The following restaurant inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:


Big Daddy’s Catering

Score: 100

Inspection date: 12/30

Observations:

Deboned chicken in reach-in temped 43F - shall be 41F or below;

Lovick’s

320 North Herritage Street, Kinston

Score: 93.5

Inspection date: 12/30

Observations:

Two employee drinks wit no lid sitting beside clean dishes in dish area;

Dish machine was not sanitizing; sanitizer bucket was replaced and machine started sanitizing properly;

Sausage and hamburger in warming drawers was less than 135F; shall be at or above 135F;

Some dishes above three-compartment sink were stacked wet; let dishes air-dry;

Carts, shelving, bottom of plates, inside of refrigerators, and outside of equipment not in compliance;

Some outdoor trash bin lids were left open;

203 Caswell Street, Kinston

Score: 89.5

Inspection date: 1/2

Observations:

Raw produce and sliced cheese stored on same shelf as raw hamburger;

Several dishes and pans were visibly soiled;

Leftover foods not date marked;

Linseeds in dry storage not labeled;

Spatula stored in cut lettuce and tomatoes was stored in a manner that allowed the handle to come into contact with food;

Several pans and utensils stacked wet; allow dishes to air dry before stacking;

Caulk around splash guard on prep sink is rough and peeling away;

Two-compartment sink provided for utensil washing with no variance from NC DHHS; either obtain variance or provide three-compartment sink;

Shelving, bottom of refrigerators and freezer, corners of two-compartment sink, inside bottom of oven, faucet handles, microwave handle, sides and bottoms of equipment, equipment legs, equipment handles and spice storage rack need additional cleaning;

Several ceiling tiles in back room with refrigerators are sagging or damaged; peeling paint on walls; several floor tiles damaged;

Light in left-most refrigerator is out;

No sanitizer test strips available;

Several surfaces in kitchen have greasy residue;
