The following restaurant inspections were conducted by the Lenoir County Health Department:

Excessive flies present in kitchen

Handles of scoops in ice, sugar and seafood breader stored in contact with food

Cups in dispenser stored exposed

Hood needs additional cleaning

Observations:

Salads in kiosk were 43-44F, shall be 41F or lower

Floors and walls in bathrooms need additional cleaning

Inspection date: 6/3

Observations:

BBQ chicken wings in walk-in read 44F, shall read 41F

Some foods in hot-hold display were below 135F

Ice machine and drain had microbial growth

Tops of ice machine, tea dispenser and drink machine were dusty

Floors and walls need additional cleaning

Observations:

Manager did not wash hands after coming into kitchen from outside

Pizza pans, plates, blue food containers and cutting board on prep unit need additional cleaning

Two slices of pizza in oven were 107F - shall be 135F or above

Lettuce, tomato and cheese in prep unit, raw chicken in prep unit and turkey in walk-in were 43-57F, shall be 41F or lower

Meat for subs, lasagna and other ready to eat foods in walk-in are not date marked

Steak for subs in prep unit was 90F

Blue storage containers in back storage room not labeled

Sticky fly traps hanging from ceiling are over food prep area

Boxes of french fries stored on floor in walk-in freezer - shall be stored at least six inches above the floor

Employee tossing pizzas was not wearing a hair restraint

Wiping cloths were left out on counter - shall be stored in proper strength sanitizer

Scoops in blue storage bins are stored with the handle in food

Some metal pans put away wet

Drinking glasses stored on dirty trays

Prep unit, white refrigerator inside both walk-ins, shelving and body of deli slicer need additional cleaning

Gaskets on walk-ins, walk-in doors, white refrigerator in disrepair

Prep unit still has protective coating which is peeling

Can wash has broken hot water hose and is clogged

Dumpster lid was open

Floors, walls and ceilings need additional cleaning

Pain peeling on ceiling in walk-in

Some floor tiles in disrepair

Walk-in freezer has 2 foot-candles of light - shall be 10 foot-candles

Hoods are missing filters

Employee's drink was on prep table during food prep

Scoops in flour, sugar canisters need additional cleaning

Shelving needs additional cleaning

Some floor tiles are in disrepair

Handles in dry ingredients touching food

Vents on ice machine and grates on floor fans are dusty

Observations:

Ensure dishes that are washed in large two-compartment sink are sanitized after cleaning and rinsing

Wet wiping cloths were laying on drain boards, tables and left in wash water - shall be stored in sanitizer

Bottom of reach-in refrigerator in back is beginning to rust

Wash solution in for pot washing was soiled

Sugar bin and bottom of reach-in freezer needs additional cleaning
