BREAKING NEWS: Afternoon shooting on Williams Loop Road

A shooting occurred on Williams Loop Road south of Kinston this afternoon.

The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office received a call about the shooting around 1:43 p.m. The victim was shot and a car with multiple individuals in it fled from the scene according to LCSO Capt. Chris Cahoon.

The victim was transported to UNC Lenoir Health Care and there is no word on his condition. LCSO is currently trying to garner witness statements and pick up additional information.
