Lenoir County debuts emergency notification system

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and Lenoir County Emergency Services has a new emergency notification system for the community.

The Swift911 is a high-speed emergency notification system, alerting residents about emergency situations such as severe storms, road closures, water problems, evacuations and other necessary updates. Anyone in Lenoir County can receive updates via telephone, cell phone, emails, text messages and social media.

The system uses a publicly available list of phone numbers, which can be updated by residents and businesses alike. Alerts can also be received by registering online or with the Swift911 Public App on any smartphone. When registered, the opportunity to sign up for other lists deemed useful by the resident is available. From there, access to the public app and web portal is available to update contact information.

For more information, go to portalv4.swiftreach.com/portal.aspx?c=205198 or contact Lenoir County Emergency Services at 252-559-1911.
