Senator Jim Perry appointed to Congressional Redistricting Committee

According to a press release from the office of Senator Jim Perry (R-Lenoir), he has been named as a member of the Joint Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting by Senator Phil Berger.

Joint Select Committees are made up of members of the NC Senate, and NC House who are personally selected by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House. Committee members serve at the pleasure of the appointing officer of each chamber.

“I am thankful that Senator Berger continues to place trust in my ability,” Sen. Perry said. “It is humbling to be included among this list of special lawmakers who have been selected for the task. I have a great deal of respect for the Democrats and Republicans on this Committee.”

The Joint Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting will have its first meeting on Nov. 5 at 1:00 p.m. in room 544 of the Legislative Office Building. The Committee is expected to work long hours over the next couple of weeks in order to accomplish its assigned task.

Senator Perry currently serves on the following committees: Appropriations on Health and Human Services, Health Care, Commerce and Insurance, Pensions and Retirement and Aging, and State and Local Government.
