Hysaan Hudson, Greene Central

Hudson had a trio of strong games to help the Rams go 3-0 last week. The senior scored 17 points in a 74-65 victory over West Craven Jan. 8, 16 in a 77-57 win against Wilson Beddingfield one day later and 22 against South Lenoir Jan. 11 in a 56-48 victory. Hudson also hit 12 3-pointers during the week, including five against the Blue Devils.

His 2019 goals: To continue playing hard this season and garner a scholarship for his efforts

Kanijah Taylor, North Lenoir

Taylor played a strong offensive role in the Hawks’ two games last week, allowing North Lenoir to garner convincing wins. The junior scored 16 points in a 74-46 win over Southwest Edgecombe on Jan. 8 before adding 21 points in a 68-53 win against Ayden-Grifton three days later. The Hawks have won four straight contests and remained undefeated in the Eastern Carolina 2A.
