If you’re a Jones County resident interested in a buyout plan, Thursday’s meeting is for you.

There will be a meeting for the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant program set for Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Jones Senior High School gym. The meeting is for homeowners interested in the FEMA buyout program and the potential timeline will be discussed.

Jones County Manager Franky Howard said the meeting was set up as the timeline has gotten tighter for the initial request to the state for the expedited process.

“There has been a lot of discussion since the storm and we want to provide the general background,” Howard said. “The meeting will be brief and we’re basically trying to get all of the addresses and home information to the state so they’ll know how much they’ll need to provide.”

Howard said there’s another way for residents to get connected if they’re unable to make the meeting.

“There is a form online for those who aren’t able to attend due to schedule conflicts,” Howard said.

The online form can be found at https://goo.gl/forms/p4GFwU2DAn5uR96j1. For more information, contact Howard at fhoward@jonescountync.gov.
