The Teens Lead Internship Experience

Cohort II of the Neuse Regional Libraries’ Teens Lead intern program is now underway; teen interns have the opportunity to develop life skills and immerse themselves in real-life work experiences through community volunteering. Having a Happy New Year so far?  Looking for just one more resolution, one you can actually stick to?  The new Year and January are the perfect time to experiment with seasonal produce.  Most of you can easily recall strawberry and tomato seasons but you can you name the seasonal vegetables for January?  Generally, we are somewhat less familiar with what’s in season this time of year.  Here’s what’s in season in January and below are some recipes that will give you ways to use them.

My family began this journey thinking we would be in North Carolina for one year; simply to complete a surgical bariatric fellowship at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine and once completed head back "home." Never in a million years would I have thought I'd be practicing medicine in Eastern North Carolina, especially Lenoir County.
