On Friday September 29th at 5:05 pm the Kinston Department of Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire located at 513 Terminal Street. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and declared a working fire. The individuals that resided at the address had exited out of the house but went back in to the home while initial fire crews were preparing their equipment to attack the fire.

Gabi Register hasn’t been teaching all that long, but she’s been teaching long enough to know hers is a demanding occupation where success depends on attitude as much as aptitude.
A couple of drainage pipes are scheduled to be upgraded on U.S. 258 South next week. The roadway near Patterson Road will close the morning of Oct. 2 and is scheduled to reopen the evening of Oct. 4.
