Delta Kappa Gamma recognizes outstanding beginning teachers in their third year

Lenoir County’s Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma recently recognized outstanding beginning teachers in their third year of teaching for the month of October. Congratulations to Melanie Smith, teacher at South Lenoir High School, Will Kelly, teacher at Contentnea-Savannah K-8 School, and Tony Kopanski, teacher at Woodington Middle School for having been chosen by their mentors.

Yesterday I spent over 30 minutes making a doctor's appointment. When I went online to get the phone number (who has a yellow pages anymore?), I was prompted to contact the appointment clerk with a quick email. Several hours later, the clerk texted a response that included her phone number.

Munn Gymnasium sustains damage in storm

Munn Gymnasium at South Lenoir High School sustained damage as a storm moved through the area. “The roof was damaged in places but is intact structurally. School is expected to open to students on Thursday as scheduled,” said Lenoir County Public Information Officer Patrick Holmes.
