Snow Hill Primary announces Terrific Kid awards

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. UScellular’s Community Connections to support academic and athletic organizations

As Lenoir County begins to welcome students back into the classrooms, academic and athletic groups are looking for ways to earn funds. UScellular’s Community Connections program allows K-12 youth organizations to earn money for equipment, travel and resources completely online by doing simple, digital activities. Organizers can register their group at communityconnections.uscellular.com to start earning up to $1,000 in sponsorship support.

9/11 21st anniversary memorial service on Sunday

Due to pending inclement weather the event will be held at Kinston’s Fire Station Number One across from Grainger Stadium. Parking is available at the stadium parking lot. AMVETS Post 1111 in conjunction with Lenoir County Emergency Services and Greene Lamp will be holding the 21st Annual Kinston/Lenoir County 9/11 Memorial Service. This year marks the twenty-first since the attacks impacted our Nation.

NWS Morehead City dangerous rip currents / coastal flooding

As a result of Hurricane Earl, we will continue to experience an extended period of life threatening rip currents for all Eastern NC beaches through this weekend and likely into early next week. In addition the combination of onshore flow, high astronomical tides, and Hurricane Earl swell will lead to minor oceanside coastal flooding again around this evenings high tide. A HIGH RISK for Rip Currents continues for All Beaches today.
