In addition the combination of onshore flow, high astronomical tides, and Hurricane Earl swell will lead to minor oceanside coastal flooding again around this evenings high tide. That harsh winter left many of these colonists dead due to starvation and poor drinking water. This particular episode during the humble beginnings of Jamestown, Virginia echoes many of the struggles the first colonists to the New World endured.
The Filling Station in Pollocksville celebrated five years of service to the community. The community now has an opportunity to help the Filling Station. From September 1, 2022 through September 24, 2022, voting is open for Chick-fil-A's True Inspiration Award and the Filling Station will be a recipient of the award. The amount is dependent on how many votes the organization gets, it could range between $30,000 to $350,000.
