Lenoir County Public School employees who together have amassed 806 years of service to schools and school children were honored Wednesday for their loyalty, their longevity and, as Superintendent Brent Williams said, for doing “that which has never been done before.”
On July 9, 2021, at 2:40 a.m., the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office responded to 1847 Will Cunningham Road in Deep Run, NC in regards to a shooting incident. Deputies arrived and found the victim deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 75-year-old Daniel Moore Sr. who lived at this address.

The Lenoir County Health Department received confirmation from the North Carolina State Laboratory that another raccoon has tested positive for rabies. The animal was located in the Northern part of Lenoir County.

Ending a June 3rd commencement ceremony, 49 Parrott Academy seniors turned their tassels and marched out of Ellis Simon Gym as graduates. Head of School David Moody saluted the Class of 2022 for their “spirit, enthusiasm, and talent.” He noted their honors in fine arts, six state athletic championships over four years of high school, and over 2,700 hours of community service in their senior year.
